Khodorkovsky’s Prison’s People: The Investigation Will Sort It Out

April 5, 2013

A new Prison’s People article written by Mikhail Khodorkovsky has been published in the April 2013 issue of The New Times magazine in Russia.

In the new piece, Khodorkovsky shares his observations of the workings of the Russian law enforcement system. He writes:

It surprises me how sincerely some adults believe in the integrity of law enforcement officers and judges…many representatives of such professions at work, being in the system almost always lie – lie to citizens, to the court, to each other. These are the rules of the system. Conscientious people do not survive it.

The next time you hear on TV – “the investigation initiated a criminal case” or “the investigation found”, before even for a second believing in what has been said, just think who the author of the text is.”
