VTB Bank Chairman Calls for Release of Mikhail Khodorkovsky

July 9, 2012

During an interview on BBC Hard Talk, Andrey Kostin, the chairman of VTB Bank – one of Russia’s largest financial institutions – said that “enough is enough” and that the Russian government should release Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Kostin points out that it would be very useful for Russia and its reputation to release Khodorkovsky and restore trust in state institutions.

Kostin may be one of Russia’s most senior economic figures to call for Khodorkovsky’s release, joining other businessmen such as Mikhail Prokhorov, Alexander Lebedev, and Dmitri Zimin.
